Our history

“CHILINGARYAN (MAMIKONYAN) DYNASTY”  HISTORICAL ETHNOGRAPHICAL   NGO

 

 “Chilingaryan (Mamikonyan) Dynasty” historical ethnographical Non-Governmental Organization was founded on June 25, 2010 by a group of individuals who were passionate about. On November 14, 2010, we held the first assembly of our organization.  

Significant works of research and historical-ethnographical data collection had Preceded the establishment of the NGO. The information is accumulated and processed by Edvard Sargsyan and represented in the documental-chronological book, named “Mamikonyan-Chilingaryan Dynasty”. Based on collected available information the Author developed Family Tree from 1976 through1980. The Tree represents regularly being updated structure of 3000 relatives for 400 years since 1650. Currently the works for achieving the roots of the tree and amending the newest generations’ branches are ongoing. The Tree reflects the historically known migrations of the family groups.

   Today the number of Mamikonyan-Chilingaryan tribe members is over 10.000. The tribe members have over 80 surnames- Chilingaryan, Khachatryan, Basentsyan, Ananyan, Papoyan, Sahakyan, Petrosyan, Budaghyan, Hovhannisyan and so on. The company has its official newspaper named "Chilingar". The author of the Chilingaryan tribe lineage, chemical sciences candidate Edward Sargsyan says in it that this tribe lived in Moush's Vardablour, Gldan and Parni villages. When a baby was born in Mamikonyan tribe, the tribe's emblem was hung on baby's neck. There was an eagle on the emblem holding an aries in its claws and it symbolized the tribe's ancestor when he was bringing the fire from the sky.
